Chicken Tandoori
Recipe for Chicken Tandoori:
Ingredients:
1 lb chicken breast
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ginger powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp turmeric
1/4 cup plain yogurt
2 tbsp olive oil
1 lemon, juiced
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tbsp chopped cilantro (optional for garnish)
Instructions:
1. In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, ginger powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, paprika, and turmeric. This will be the marinade for the chicken.
2. Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large bowl.
3. Pour the spice mixture over the chicken and mix well to ensure all the pieces are coated evenly.
4. In a separate bowl, mix together yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, garam masala, and red chili powder. This will be the tandoori sauce.
5. Pour the tandoori sauce over the chicken and mix well, making sure all the pieces are coated in the sauce. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours (or overnight for best results).
6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly grease it with olive oil.
7. Take out the marinated chicken from the fridge and place the pieces on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure to leave some space between the pieces.
8. Bake the chicken for 20-25 minutes, flipping the pieces halfway through, until they are cooked through and slightly charred.
9. Once done, take out the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
10. Serve the chicken tandoori hot, garnished with chopped cilantro if desired. It can be served with rice, naan bread, or your choice of side dish.
Enjoy your delicious and flavorful chicken tandoori!
